3月3日のひなまつりに、飾って食べる「ひなあられ」は、お米で作ったお菓子です。大きく分けて、もち米で作るものと、うるち米から作るものがあります。関東では、うるち米系。関西では、もち米系。今では、どちらもお目にかかる機会が増えていますので、両方買って食べて比べて頂ければ嬉しいです。
“Hina-arare” are sweet rice cakes eaten for the Girls’ Festival on March 3. There are mainly two kinds depending on what they are made of; glutinous rice and ordinary rice. Kanto people are more familiar with the one made of ordinary rice while Kansai people are more familiar with glutinous rice one. As you can find both kinds at supermarkets these days, I am glad if you can compare them and see which one you like better.
